How to set up Surfshark Shadowsocks protocol on Android

In this guide we will shortly cover the basic steps to configure Shadowsocks protocol on your device. Lets get started! 

  1.  First, please download this shadowsocks client from the Google play store.  After installing it, click Open.

  2.  When the application opens, please find this symbol and click on it at the top right side!

    Then, click on manual settings:

  3.  Now, after you have done these steps, please visit our website and log in to your account.  You can find the link here.
  4. Go to the Devices section.

    Scroll down to the Shadowsocks selection.

  5. If you have not enabled Shadowsocks for your account, you will have to do so by pressing Enable Shadowsocks button.

    Now simply copy-paste the Port and the password in to the Shadowsocks client on your Android.

  6. Select a server of your choice from our page. To do so, you have to copy the server domain like in the screenshot below.

    Paste the server domain into Server field. 
    After you have done everything, check:
    1 - If you have all of your settings and preferred server filled. Make sure AES-256-GCM is selected
    2 - If you want to route all device traffic trough Shadowsocks
    3 - Save the profile

  7.  Last step:
    1 - Select the created profile by clicking on it
    2 - Click on the paper airplane logo to enable Shadowsocks connection.

  8.  That is it, now you are connected via shadowsocks protocol to our Surfshark services! Happy surfing!
