How to set up Surfshark Shadowsocks protocol on Android

In this guide, we will shortly cover the basic steps to configure Shadowsocks protocol on your device. Let's get started! 

  1.  First, please download Shadowsocks client from the Play Store. After installing it, click Open.


  2.  When the application opens, please find this symbol and click on it at the top right side! 


    Then, click on manual settings: 


  3.  Now, after you have done these steps, please visit this page.

    In case this link doesn't work, please try this page instead.

    You may need to log in to proceed to this page. In this case, enter the email address you used to create your account, then your password, and click Log In.

  4. If you have not enabled Shadowsocks for your account, you will have to do so by pressing the Activate Shadowsocks button. 


    Now copy-paste the port and the password into the Shadowsocks client on your device. 


  5. Move from Credentials to the Locations tab where you will find the list of all servers and their hostnames. You will need to use the server hostname to connect to a server in that location. So copy the hostname of your chosen location and proceed to the next step.


    Paste the server domain into Server field. After you have done everything, check the following:
    1 - If you have all of your settings and preferred server filled. Make sure AES-256-GCM is selected
    2 - If you want to route all device traffic trough Shadowsocks

    3 - Save the profile


  6.  Last step:
    1 - Select the created profile by clicking on it
    2 - Click on the paper airplane logo to enable Shadowsocks connection. 


  7.  That is it, now you are connected via Shadowsocks protocol to our Surfshark services! Happy surfing!
