In this article, you will learn how to enable and use the Surfshark Alternative ID automatic form-filling functionality. This feature is currently available on Chrome and Edge browser extensions.
You will need an active Surfshark subscription alongside the Surfshark browser extension on Chrome or Edge. You can check available subscription options on our pricing page.
How to update your Surfshark browser extension
Follow these steps to update the Surfshark browser extension on Chrome. If you are using Edge, please refer to our guide on how to set up Surfshark browser extension on Edge.

Open Google Chrome and click on the three dots at the top right of the browser:

Click Settings:

Go to Extensions:

Toggle the slider to turn on Developer mode:

Next to the Surfshark VPN Extension, click on Details:

Lastly, click Update:
How to enable and use the automatic form-filling functionality
Now that the browser extension is up to date, we can enable and use the automatic form-filling function of Surfshark's Alternative ID.

Open the Surfshark browser extension and click on Settings:

Click on Alternative ID:

Here, you will find the switch to toggle the Automatic form filling on or off. By default, it is set to on:

Once this function is enabled, you will see Surfshark logos next to fields that can be filled. Click on one of them:

After you click on a Surfshark logo in a text field, a pop-up will appear. If you have an Alternative ID generated, you can click Fill form:
If you do not have an Alternative ID, you will be given a choice to generate one. If you'd like to customize it, check out how to set up Alternative ID:
NOTE: If you have multiple Alternative emails, you can select which one to use by clicking on the email dropdown and selecting the email of your choice:

You will see that all the available text fields will be filled out with your Alternative ID details:
