How to use the Surfshark Antivirus on Windows

In this article, you will learn how to use the brand new Surfshark Antivirus on your Windows device.

Before we begin, make sure you have Surfshark VPN for Windows and an active Surfshark subscription with Surfshark One, which includes the Antivirus. You can purchase it on our pricing page.

Keep in mind that the Surfshark Antivirus requires Windows 10 or newer and 2GB of free disk space to run at full power.

  1. Open the Surfshark application and select the Antivirus tab.

  2. Press on Install Antivirus.

Once the installation is complete, you can start your first scan. To do so, press Continue.

  3. Once the initial scan is complete, you will see the number of files scanned and the overall duration of the scan. You will also know whether any threats have been found on your device.

  4. Once the initial scan is complete, you'll find yourself in the main dashboard of the Antivirus features. Here you can find some additional options.

On the right, you can choose between a Full scan and a Quick scan.

Scheduled scans - you can schedule an automatic Full or Quick scan for certain days at a specific time. Feel free to customize this feature the way you like. You can also disable the feature and perform the scans manually.

Webcam protection - if your Windows device has a webcam, you can install this additional feature. Read more about it here.

Exclude from scanning - you are free to choose what files or folders you want to scan. If you have a particular file or folder that you don't want to be scanned, add it to the exclude list.

Quarantine auto-delete - if you enable this option, quarantined files (in other words, harmful files) will be automatically deleted in 60 days.

Note: in case any threats have been found on your device, we highly recommend removing the files containing threats immediately to secure your device. You are able to do that directly through the Surfshark app.

Now you know how to use the Surfshark Antivirus on your Windows device.
