This article explains how to use app shortcuts in the Surfshark app on Android TV. You’ll learn how shortcuts work, how to add or remove them, and where to manage them in your settings.

Manage shortcuts on Android TV

Set up app shortcuts

Shortcuts let you launch your favorite streaming apps (like Netflix, YouTube, or Disney+) directly from the Surfshark home screen without leaving the app.

Default shortcuts appear on your Surfshark home screen after you first connect to the VPN. You will be able to configure them by following these steps:

  1. Press the + icon in your home screen shortcuts section:

alt="Surfshark home screen with the shortcuts row showing"

  2. Add a shortcut by pressing the + icon on the right:

  3. Once you're done, you will see your configured shortcuts on the home screen:

alt="Surfshark home screen showing the shortcuts row"

  4. If you want to remove a shortcut, go back to your shortcut settings and press the recycle bin icon next to the shortcut you want to delete:

NOTE: If you cannot see any shortcuts on your home screen, you can add them in the App Settings section of your Surfshark app settings. There, you can also remove shortcuts completely, and they will not show on the home screen.

If you have bypassed an app in your VPN settings, each shortcut displays its current routing status, so you can see at a glance whether the app is set to Bypass VPN (traffic goes directly to the internet, bypassing Surfshark) or Route via VPN (traffic goes through the VPN):
