In this article, you will learn everything you need to know about Surfshark's Auto-connect.
What is Auto-connect?
Auto-connect is a feature that will connect your device to the VPN as soon as it finds a Wi-Fi or ethernet connection. This feature can save you some time, as you won't need to open the Surfshark app and click any buttons to connect to Surfshark servers.
The best part is that you can manually set to which location you want the VPN to connect to automatically. It can be the fastest server, the nearest server, a specific country and city, or even a Static IP or a MultiHop server.
How to use Auto-connect?

Open the Surfshark application on any device and go to Settings:
NOTE: In this article, we will demonstrate auto-connect on a macOS device, but the procedure is identical on every device.

Select VPN Settings:

First, toggle the Auto-connect switch to the On position. The toggle will light up green when it's active:

Once auto-connect is enabled, select Preferences:

In the new window, click on the Fastest location. There, you can select the server to which you'd like to connect automatically:

After you click on the Fastest location, you can select which location you want the Surfshark application to connect to automatically. There are plenty of options, including Static IPs and MultiHop servers:
NOTE: On iOS devices, the ability to select a preferred auto-connect location is currently unavailable. The app will automatically connect to your most recently used location.
