Surfshark Antivirus detects another antivirus during installation

In this article, you will learn what steps to take if Surfshark Antivirus installed detects other antivirus applications on your device.

If the Surfshark Antivirus installed on your device detects other antivirus applications, it may cause your installation to fail. Even if the other antivirus application has been deleted recently or some time ago, Surfshark can still find it. Don’t worry, though; this issue can be fixed easily.


Check out the following steps:

  1. Click on the Windows key, enter PowerShell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and click on Run as administrator.

  2. Once PowerShell is open, copy the command below, paste it into Windows PowerShell, and click Enter.

    The command:

    Get-WmiObject -Namespace root\SecurityCenter2 -Class AntiVirusProduct | ForEach-Object{if($_.instanceGuid -ne “{D68DDC3A-831F-4fae-9E44-
    DA132C1ACF46}“){$_.Delete()}}

  3. Once done, run the Surfshark installation again.
