How to add the Surfshark widget on Android

In this article, you will learn how to add the Surfshark widget on Android. It’s convenient because you don't need to open the Surfshark app to make changes to your connection.

You will need an active Surfshark subscription and Android OS 7.0 or later to use the Surfshark app, which you can purchase on our pricing page.

NOTE: If you have Android OS 6.0 or higher but under 7.0, you will need to download the Surfshark Android .apk app.
 

 

Check the following steps:

1. Tap and hold an empty spot on your device's main screen; in the new pop-up, select Widgets.


 

2. A pop-up or a similar screen should appear. Tap on Widgets.


 

3. Scroll until you see the Surfshark tab.


4. There are four available widget types:

NOTE: The widgets seen below can be resized to your preference.
 

  • The small Surfshark Search widget.

      
  • The small VPN widget, which allows you to connect and disconnect.

      
  • The medium VPN widget, which allows you to connect, disconnect, and pause the VPN connection.

      
  • The large VPN widget allows you to connect, disconnect, and pause and displays a list of recent connections — servers that you've connected to recently.
