How to troubleshoot Surfshark VPN browser extension issues?

In this article, you will learn how to troubleshoot various Surfshark VPN browser extension issues.

We will cover these types of issues:

Connection issues

  1. If you are having any issues connecting, test if you are unable to connect to various locations, rather than just one particular location.
  2. Make sure you don't have any active ad-block extensions or antivirus apps running. VPN applications might easily interfere with these ad-blockers or antivirus apps.

  3. Try disabling the CleanWeb feature. You can find the feature in the settings tab of the extension.

  4. Try out the Surfshark extension on a different browser. If you are using Chrome - try Firefox or Edge. The issue might be related to your browser, instead of the extension. If so, usually a reinstall of the whole browser helps!
  5. Lastly, try reinstalling the Surfshark VPN extension on your browser.

Application issues

  1. When it comes to app issues, whether it crashes, or does not respond, make sure you have your Antivirus applications running or any ad-blockers enabled.  These two are the main cause of extension issues.
  2. Try out the Surfshark extension on a different browser. If you are using Chrome - try Firefox or Edge. The issue might be related to your browser, instead of the extension. If the Surfshark extension works on other browsers, usually a reinstall of the whole browser helps!

  3. Lastly, try reinstalling the Surfshark VPN extension on your browser.

Congratulations! Now you know how to troubleshoot possible extension issues.
