Refer and Earn

 
Surfshark's newly updated referral program allows you to invite your friends to join Surfshark and earn money or free months to your subscription.

This article will teach you the basics of the Surfshark referral program, and how to use it. 

To participate, you need an active Surfshark subscription, which you can purchase on our pricing page.
 

How does the Surfshark referral program work?

The Surfshark referral program is simple. Invite a friend, and once they stay subscribed for at least 31 days, you can choose a reward: free months added to your subscription or a commission payout to your PayPal account.

Keep in mind:

• Cash rewards depend on the subscription price, commission rate, exchange rate at purchase, and require reaching the minimum payout amount.
• Free months depend on the plan your friend chooses: a monthly plan gives both of you 1 free month, while longer plans give both of you 3 free months.

NOTE: In some countries, only free months are available as a reward for referring your friend. For more information, check our Terms of Service.

How to refer your friend to Surfshark

You can also invite friends and earn rewards directly from the Surfshark desktop or mobile app.

1. Enter the Refer & earn tab in your Surfshark account.
   
   You can also access it by clicking Refer at the top of your Surfshark account page:
   
   
    
2. Copy & share your unique referral link with your friends:
   
   
   
   You can also find your referral link in the Surfshark desktop or mobile apps. To do so, Open the Surfshark app > Settings > Refer & earn.
    
3. Your friends must be brand-new Surfshark subscribers and stay with Surfshark for at least 31 days.
4. You get to claim a reward of your choice, and your friends get to enjoy free months depending on their subscription's length.

1. Open the Surfshark app on your device.
2. Go to Settings:
   
   
    
3. Scroll down and click Refer & earn:
   
   
    
4. Click the copy icon to copy your unique referral link:
   
   
   
   NOTE: On the Windows app, you will also see a referral prompt. From there, you can share your invite directly via your social media channels:
   
   

How to claim your rewards

1. Enter the Refer & earn tab in your Surfshark account.
   
   You can also access it by clicking Refer at the top of your Surfshark account page:
   
   
   
   Additionally, you can access this page from the Surfshark desktop or mobile apps. To do so, Open the Surfshark app > Settings > Refer & earn and click on the link there.

    

2. Now click on the Rewards & payouts tab:
   
   
    
3. If you have any rewards, you will see them in the Referrals tab:
   
   
   
   Here, you can do the following:

• You can claim all your rewards as money or as months by pressing one of these buttons respectively:
  
  
  
  NOTE: The action to claim all your rewards as money or as months is irreversible – once clicked, a confirmation pop-up will appear:
  
  
   
• You can also claim each of the rewards individually once they are ready to claim by pressing Claim:
  
  
  
  And choosing your preferred reward:
  
  
   
• If you choose to claim your rewards as free months to your subscription, they will be applied immediately:
  
  
  
   
• If you choose to claim your rewards as money, you'll see the sum appear in your Wallet:
  
  
  
  It is important to note that you can make a payout only once you've reached/or surpassed the payout target:
  
  
  
  Once that is done, you can click Pay out:
  
  
  
  The payouts are made via PayPal. Once you press Pay out and Confirm, all the reward money accumulated in your wallet will be sent to your PayPal account. The payout sum cannot be split and may be affected by exchange rates, fees, or taxes:
  
  
  
  Name: enter your full name using only Latin characters. It should consist of at least two words. One word can not be shorter than 2 characters, and must be without any special symbols;
  Email: enter a valid PayPal email address that is no longer than 34 characters.
  
  Afterward, you will get a confirmation that the reward money will reach your PayPal account within the first 10 business days of the following calendar month:
  
  
   
• You can monitor your payouts in the Payout tab. If the payout is marked as Pending, it means that the money is on its way:
  
  
  
  If you notice that the payout is marked as Failed, the money you tried to cash out will be sent back to your wallet. In these cases we recommend checking your PayPal account details and trying to make a payout again:
  
  
  
  If that does not work, copy the Payout ID and contact our Customer Support:
