First off, to take a screenshot, you will need to open up the Snipping Tool. This application is present by default on all Windows systems.
- Press the Start (Windows) button, type snipping tool in the search box, and then select the Snipping Tool from the list of results.
- Press Mode (in older versions, select the arrow next to the New button), select Rectangular snip, and then select the screen area that you want to screenshot.
- After you capture a screenshot, select the Save Snip button.
- In the 'Save As' box, type a file name (or leave the default), choose a location, and click Save.
