Netflix troubleshooting

Do you get some error when trying to play something on Netflix?

Here are our noticed issues that may occur when using Netflix:

Netflix Site error.
You seem to be using an unblocker or Proxy.
Netflix region does not change.
The content is loading but does not start.

Proceed further to find out how to fix those issues.

  • Netflix Site Error.

    Do you get this error when trying to log in?


    Sometimes Netflix is unable to process login requests over VPN. In this case, disconnect from our server, log in to your Netflix account, then reconnect to our server. 

    Refresh your browser and Netflix will work just fine.

  • Whoops, something went wrong... You seem to be using an unblocker or proxy.


    There might be several reasons for this error. If you get this error, please try this:

    Clear your browser cache if you are watching Netflix via browser;

    Uninstall and reinstall the Netflix app if you are using their app;

    Try other locations from our server list. For example, you are trying to watch US Netflix when connected to the US New York server and get this error, connect to US Detroit and try again.

    Check if your VPN connection was successful. You can follow this guide to make sure.

  • Netflix library does not change - you see the same content after connecting to our servers. 

    At first, it's worth to mention, that within European countries Netflix library switch will be delayed due to the new Policy of Netflix. If you are physically located in France and connect to our Germany server in order to watch German Netflix, it will take some time for Netflix content to switch.

    If you connect to the server outside of EU and still get the same content, reinstall the Netflix app or clear browsers cache.

  • Netflix content is loading, but not playing.


    If that happens on your device, try this:

    - Connect to a different location;

    - Go to the Settings page of Surfshark app, open the Advanced tab and change the protocol to OpenVPN/UDP;

    - Change the default DNS on your router.

    - Check if your connection to our server was successful. You can refer to this tutorial to make sure.
