Set up custom DNS on GL.iNet router

This guide will show you how to change DNS server settings on your GL.iNet router.

 

Setting up custom DNS servers on your router will prevent potential DNS leaks in the VPN connection or improve general connectivity. 

 

  1. Open the Web Admin Panel. Open a web browser and visit http://192.168.8.1. This link will redirect you to the Web Admin Panel.

    If this is your first time opening the Web Admin Panel, you will need to select the language. Select English or any language you prefer.

  2. Afterward, you will need to create a password that you will use to access the Web Admin Panel. Use any password that you prefer.

  3. Once you complete the initial setup, you will see the Web Admin Panel. Go to Settings > DNS Settings.

    Enter these DNS servers:

    DNS server 1: 208.67.222.222
    DNS server 2: 208.67.220.220

    Check both Force all clients to use and Rebind Protection options and click
     Apply
