How to make an exception for Surfshark in Avast antivirus settings

In this article, you will learn how to make an exception for Surfshark on the Avast antivirus application.

You will need the Avast antivirus application and an active Surfshark subscription, which you can purchase on our pricing page.


Follow these steps to make an exception for Surfshark in Avira antivirus settings:

  1. Launch the Avast app and click the Menu button in the top-right corner.

  2. Go to the Settings section.

  3. Open the Exceptions tab.

  4. Click the Add exception button.

  5. Choose the Browse option to locate the Surfshark folder.

  6. Navigate to the Surfshark folder. The default location for Surfshark is This PC > Windows (C:) > Program Files (x86).

  7. In the Program Files (x86) folder, find and check the Surfshark folder. Click OK.

  8. Now, the Surfshark application is excluded from Avast scans.

  9. Restart your device for the changes to apply.
