Linksys router tutorial

Usually, we recommend downloading our apps to ensure the best performance & security and the easiest setup. At the moment, we offer Surfshark apps for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, Chrome, Firefox, and Fire TV.

You can set up a Linksys router with Sufshark using the OpenVPN protocol to connect our remote servers. Original Linksys firmware does not offer this functionality - but with just a few extra steps, you can work around it.

Enjoy the VPN services on your router by installing custom firmware that supports OpenVPN protocol, just like DD-WRT or Tomato.

You can check if your router supports DD-WRT firmware here

All the Tomato-supported Linksys routers are listed in this article. To install this firmware on your router, please follow these instructions.

Other firmware is available, like Advanced Tomato, that can be installed on your router to connect to the VPN server. You can find all the routers that support Advanced Tomato here. There is a detailed "HOW TO" guide on the Downloads page for every router.

Note that flashing your router incorrectly can damage your router and make it unusable. If you decide to flash your router, do it at your own risk.
