Surfshark Multi IP feature for macOS

What is Multi IP for macOS, and how does it work?

Opposite to a typical VPN connection, where all traffic is routed through a singular VPN IP address, the Multi IP feature for macOS allocates a different IP address from the selected allocation range for each app, service, and website within the same VPN session.

The Multi IP feature generates a unique path for each website, service, or application, meaning that when enabling this feature, you'll get a specific IP address when trying to reach Google, and then a different one when trying to access YouTube.

How to enable Multi IP on macOS?

  • Open the Surfshark app, go to VPN settings, and select Multi IP under Advanced settings.

  • Toggle the switch to the ON position after selecting the rotation range of your preference:
    • City – changes to other IPs within the same city.
    • Country – changes to other IPs within the same country.
    • Region – changes to other IP addresses within the same geographic region, such as North America, South America, North Europe, East Europe, South Europe, Africa, Asia, or Oceania. The region depends on the VPN location you select.
    • Worldwide – changes to other IPs from anywhere in the world.

  • When the Multi IP feature is enabled, you will see it in the main screen, as well as the selected rotation range.
