This article will show you how to install or update the .NET on your Windows operating system. You may need to do so in case you are encountering issues when trying to connect via the Surfshark app.
Surfshark apps from version 5.2.0 and later require .NET version 7.0 or later.
To download and install the .NET, you will have to download and install three installers in total, listed below:
You will have to repeat the steps below with all three installers listed above.
After opening any of the links above, the download will begin automatically.
You will also have the choice of saving the installation file in your desired location. In this case, we are saving it in the Downloads folder.
If the installation does not begin automatically, on the same webpage, click on the manual download button.
Once the download is complete, launch the installation file. If you are using a different browser, simply look for the downloaded file in the downloads tab or your downloads folder.
A setup window will pop up. Click on Install. Please note that you will need Administrator rights in order to continue.
If you already have .NET Core 7.0 (or a newer one) installed, an error will appear that stops the process. In this case, you don't need to proceed, press Close.
After the installation is complete, you will get a message confirming that it was indeed successful. Feel free to press Close now.
Now, to finalize the installation, reboot your device.
