How to use Kill Switch?

This article will teach you how to use the Kill Switch feature on different devices.

 

Kill Switch is a smart feature on the Surfshark apps for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. It turns off your internet connection if the VPN connection unexpectedly drops, protecting your data and location from exposure until you're reconnected.

 

We will go through the following devices to enable Kill Switch:

You will need to have the Surfshark application installed on one of the devices to follow this guide.

 

Windows

 

 

  1. Open the Surfshark app and select Settings.

  2. Click on VPN settings.

  3. To enable Kill Switch, toggle the switch on the right side.

macOS

 

  1. Open the Surfshark app. Then, in the app, click on the Settings tab.

  2. Select VPN Settings.

  3. You will see a toggle switch next to Kill Switch indicating that it's on. If it's not - toggle the switch to enable Kill Switch.

Android

 

  1. Open the Surfshark app and tap on Settings.

  2. Tap on the VPN settings tab.

  3. You will see a toggle button near VPN Kill Switch, which represents its status - green means that it's active, grey - inactive. Please tap on the toggle button next to the feature to turn it on or off.

iOS

 

  1. Open the Surfshark app and tap on Settings.
